There is no correlation between the amount of rainfall per month and the number of sunshine hours in Aprils over the past 50 years - which was not as I expected. So my hypothesis was wrong, for the April months anyway. 2

There is not an overall negative correlation between number of sunshine hours and the amount of rainfall There is a reasonable negative correlation for summer months, August being best (then July). 12
