2 Lesson II Our Birthright – His Salvation
Lesson Overview & Purpose Christianity sometimes teaches that grace and Torah are opposite. This creates a misunderstanding of salvation. It is important to understand the biblical meaning of grace, redemption, and salvation. Grace and legalism are opposite Let’s define legalism.. Legalism is the attempt to earn salvation through good works. The bible teach us that there is one component that separate us from God. What is that? Sin… Please read Romans 3:23 & Romans 6:23. How do we become righteous in front of God? Please read 2 Corinthians 5:21 What is progressive revelation? The way that God disclosed his truth in a gradual and deliberate manner over the time. Good example salvation from an Exodus standpoint. Messianic prophecies in the Torah. Read Genesis 22:18 & Galatians 3:16 (seed of Abraham=Messiah)

3 Lesson II Our Birthright – His Salvation
Salvation before Christ - Section 2.13 How were people saved before the death and resurrection of the Messiah? Let’s see what Genesis says about Abraham (Genesis 15:6) "Abram believed the LORD, and He credited it to him as righteousness.“ Now let’s look at what Paul says in the book of Roman 4:1-5, 9-110,16 They were saved by faith! Not by animal sacrifices; See Hebrews 10:4, 9:9, 10:1 Not by keeping the law, Galatians 2:21 What is our identity in Messiah? – Section 2.15 Being born again means a complete transformation, a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Is an inward and spiritual transformation Let’s not confuse justification with sanctification. Justification: becoming right with God. Sanctification: the act of setting something apart as holy Yeshua came take away sin 1 John 3:5 We are part of the new family. Abraham is our father. Romans 4:16 Before we were Gentile in the flesh apart from the commonwealth of Israel, stranger to the covenant of promises, Yeshua brought us near by his blood. Ephesian 2: 11-13

4 Lesson discussion and extra material
Let’s define the word salvation. According the Theological Wordbook of the OT the word “salvation” comes from the root word yasha (Strong 929), which means save, deliver. Yeshua is the word in Hebrew for salvation! The spiritual meaning for salvation is that God saves by forgiving sin and by changing the character of an individual. For example Ezk 37:23, Ps 51:14 Regardless of the doctrine, keeping the law, grace, animal sacrifices, works, non of that saves according to the Scriptures. As believers of Yeshua we our new identity is salvation by faith and grace through him. The lesson teaches no collective salvation but an individual choice between the believer and Yahweh.
