4 Student Behaviors Be prompt Be ready to learn when class begins.
Be prepared Have materials with you. Be a polite and positive participant Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. Be productive Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be a problem solver Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

5 Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor the ideas and opinions of others. Offer help to others. Be responsible with property and belongings.

6 Responsibility for Coursework
Bring notebook, textbook, planner, DGP composition book and appropriate writing tools to class. Know due dates, and submit all work on time. All assignments are posted on the bulletin board

7 Materials Needed Two composition notebook color pencils or marker
index cards highlighters black or blue ink pens only pencils, notebook (3 inch) with a section identified for this class Ruler

8 Policies Please be in your seat when class begins. Make sure you have sharpened pencils. There will be a 10% reduction for late work Absences Missed assignments should be made up within 3 days Appointments should be made to make up summative assessments (Major tests)

Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on: Class participation (effort) Completion of assignments (daily work) Major projects, exams, and self-reflection Graded papers will be given out on Wednesdays and all grades need to be recorded on your grade sheet and signed off by your last period teachers and parent each week. Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60% -below = F Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.

11 Performance Tasks Each student will be required to complete one performance task (project) per unit in addition to small in-class mini projects. Failure to complete assigned projects will result in a grade of “I” until work is completed.

12 Homework: A homework grade will be given twice each nine weeks based on the percent of the total number of homework assignments completed by the student. Students are expected to turn in homework on its due date.

13 Textbook Students will not have a book to take home, but they will use various resources in class.

14 My Pledge to Students I will trust you until you give me reason to do otherwise. I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. I will promptly correct and offer feedback on your work. I will work with you to meet learning goals. I will offer extra help and extended work hours should you require them.
