1 More than 300 dead in Iran-Iraq

2 More than 300 people have died and at least 4,000 people have been injured after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck the border region between Iraq and Iran late Sunday. Most of the deaths reported have been in Iran, though seven people are reported to have died in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq. The quake, which reached a depth of just over 14 miles according to the US Geological Survey, was felt across the region with aftershocks hitting Pakistan, Lebanon, Kuwait and Turkey. Iran sits on a major fault line between the Arabian and Eurasian plates and has experienced a number of earthquakes in the past. The most deadly this century occurred in 2003 when a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck in the south east of the country, killing some 26,000 people.

3 In Other News President Trump is in the Philippines to attend the ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations) summit, which marks the final stop on his almost two-week Asian trip. Terrible details are coming out about a massacre of Rohingya in a village called Tula Toli in Myanmar. Included in those details are horrific stories of rape, mass murder and people being burned alive. More than 600,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar into Bangladesh since August. They're escaping violent clashes in areas where Myanmar's military is conducting what it calls "clearance operations." The UN and human rights groups like Amnesty International call it ethnic cleansing. The Rohingya, a mostly-Muslim ethnic group who are effectively stateless, are considered the most persecuted people in the world. Disney says it's starting work on a new "Star Wars trilogy" with brand new characters.
