3 Purpose Community planning is to deliver better and positive outcomes for communities. The introduction of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act provides a fresh focus and impetus to improve ways of working. The review is about putting in place the structures and processes to facilitate this to happen, streamlining and simplifying arrangements to design a model of governance that: provides a shared understanding and clarity of purpose; maximises stakeholder influence/participation; and provides greater accountability and transparency

4 Timeline Review agreed by the Edinburgh Partnership Board on 7 December 2017 Phase 1 (Review) Jan – June Phase 2 (Consultation) July – September Model agreed by Council, partners and the Edinburgh Partnership Sep/October 2018

5 Workshop exercises Exercise 1: Identify strengths, weaknesses, gaps and opportunities of the current arrangements against the following: Making partnership working stronger Clearly being able to understand who is responsible for making and where/how decisions are made Provides opportunities for communities to be involved and influence decision making at the right times/places Exercise 2: look at the post it comments and use sticky dots to mark the comments that you agree with Exercise 3: look at the possible ideas proposed and discuss/comment on what would work or not to achieve the above points or use the blank sheet to draw another idea for consideration
