15 Dress Code The Dress Code for Males is: 1. Young men should be dressed in appropriate business-like attire suitable to each occasion. No Shorts, Blue Jeans, Cutoffs, or T- shirts. 2. Business attire of coat, dress slacks, collared shirt and tie, shoes (no tennis shoes or flip flop sandals) and socks will be expected at all times. 3. A DECA blazer worn with neat slacks, shirt and tie will be considered appropriate attire for any occasion. The Dress Code for Females is: 1. Business attire skirts/dresses (no more than 2 from knee) and blouses or professional pant suits/slacks and dress blouse with appropriate undergarments, shoes (pumps, heels or flats; no tennis shoes or flip flop sandals) will be expected. 3. A DECA Blazer worn with neat business-like pants and blouses will be considered appropriate for any occasion. Dress Slacks are highly recommended! 16 Competition Rules Students will be allowed to compete in more than 1 competitive event, with a maximum of 2 events this year. Students may participate in both 1 chapter event and 1 individual event. Students will be allowed to compete in 2 manual events as long as 1 is an individual manual and 1 is a chapter manual. Students will not be allowed to compete in 2 events with tests, even though the tests may be the same, unless 1 is a Georgia Testing Only Event. Students will not be allowed to compete in 2 role play events, even though one may be an individual and one may be a team. Students will not be allowed to compete in a role play event and a manual event with a test. If a student competes in a testing event at Region Competition and does not advance to state, they will be allowed to compete in one of the testing events that does not have a region preliminary requirement (ex: team decision making events) and a manual (non testing), or they can compete in a manual (testing).

17 Local Officer Training Program As indicated on the 2012-2013 Program of Work, each chapter is required to complete a Local Officer Training Program Local Officer Training Program is on website now (homepage and under Chapter Resources).

18 Affiliation Per the Program of Work, your chapter must be PAID and AFFILIATED by October 1, 2012 You do not have to have every member by this date, but you must be registered and affiliated This report will be forwarded to the State Department

35 Georgia DECA Foundation It is IMPERATIVE that advisors, chapters, alumni, and parents support the Foundation! Incentives: With a $25 donation… – The chapter will receive (1) extra competitor slot to be used at region or state You can receive (1) slot for an advisor donation and (1) slot for a chapter donation for a total of (2) slots – The chapter members will be eligible to apply for needs scholarships

36 GMEA Membership Incentive Each advisor that is a PAID and CURRENT member of ACTE/GACTE/GMEA will receive (2) extra competitor slots for their chapter to use at region or state competition You must be PAID and CURRENT through March 1, 2013 Please check your membership to see if it is coming up for renewal so you dont miss out! Deadline to renew membership or join for extra competitor slots is December 1, 2012
