2. PUrpose of the Legislative Branch
Creates the laws for our state
Approves the budget for our state
Works to improve our state
Represents the people’s voice in government
Approves people named by the governor to fill offices
Works for the people of their district

3. PA Legislative Branch
Pennsylvania’s legislative branch is called the General Assembly.
Our legislative Branch is divided into 2 parts (bicameral):
The House of Representatives
The Senate
Both work together to do what is the best for the state
