2 Genre Autobiographical Story- A story that tells of specific periods of a person’s life written and often embellished by that person.

3 Strategy Evaluate -You must call upon your own critical judgment to understand a text. Good readers read the text closely to find evidence f the authors purpose.

4 Skill Authors Purpose- Authors write to entertain, to instruct, to inquire, or to persuade. Understanding an author’s purpose for writing helps readers evaluate and make judgments about the piece they are reading.
