I choose this standard because if I was a teacher currently I would be showing the students my knowledge of the information presented in the PowerPoint, and my skills of using PowerPoint to present the project.

3. What is Cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place using electronic technology.
This can include any electronic device that can connect to other people, such as: cell phones, computers, tablets, webcams and social media sites.

4. Types Cyberbullying Statistics
Sending mean messages or threats to a person's account or cell phone
Spreading rumors online or through texts
Posting hurtful or threatening messages on social networking sites or web pages
Stealing a person's account information to break into their account and send damaging messages
Pretending to be someone else online to hurt another person
Taking unflattering pictures of a person and spreading them through cell phones or the Internet
Sexting, or circulating sexually suggestive pictures or messages about a person

7. Always Be Safe on the Internet!
Internet safety is a very serious and important issue. You never know who you are really talking too when you are online.

8. Safety First!
Personal Information- Do not share personal information online, such as address, full name or even town you live in to unknown people.
Screen Name- Again do not use personal information for a screen name.
Passwords- Do not share passwords with anyone and always log out of the computer, especially in public places.
Photos- Do not post photos online without parent permission, and do not send photos to strangers.
Online Friends- Do not agree to meet anyone from online unless parents have approved.
Online Ads- Do not buy anything online without consulting parents first, some ads may be harmful to the computer or may be a scam.
Downloading- Talk to parents before downloading anything or opening attachments, some may be harmful to the computer.
Bullying- Do not bully online and if you see cyberbullying happening consult a parent for help.
Social Networking-Do not get on social media before the age requirements but if you do, use these tips!
Research-Consult an adult for safe websites to use, always ask before you go to a website, to make sure it’s appropriate.

9. Ethical Issues Issues: What Can Teacher's Do?
Social networking-gossip, wasted time, bullying, ruined reputations etc.
Acceptable Use Policies- Includes not giving out personal information, not participating in off-line meetings or activities, and privacy expectations.
Netiquette-Responding promptly to messages, Not using school systems for personal use, Not sending flame mail
Social Networking- Teachers can create a contract for students about the rules for social networking sites and how it can affect them at school if they break the rules.
Acceptable Use Policies-Teachers need to enforce Acceptable Use Policies and if their school does not have one, they need to make one.
Netiquette-Teachers should model ethical online behavior for students and Conduct training sessions for students and hold classroom discussions

What Can Teacher’s Do?
Cyber Bullying-“the act of sending or posting harmful or cruel text or images using the Internet or other communication devices”
Student Data- The Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) “mandates the development of an Internet safety plan that addresses the unauthorized disclosure, use and dissemination of personal identification information regarding minors.
Internet Privacy-Privacy is defined as “the right to be left alone”. But on the internet you cannot do this as easily.
Cyber Bullying-Assign news articles related to cyber bullying incidents for student reading and class discussion.
Student Data-Be knowledgeable of the laws and policies associated with student data confidentiality on the federal, state, and district level. Educate students on privacy!
Internet Privacy-Teach students how to recognize, avoid and handle situations where their privacy will be compromised and their lives put in danger

11. Social Issues Issues: What Can Teacher’s Do?
Gender-Information technology is often perceived as a male subject
Social-economic-Minority groups face multiple barriers to information technology use, including lack of role models, unconscious stereotyping, false perceptions of interest, and limited access to computers
Race-Computer and Internet usage is higher among Whites than Blacks and Hispanics, and higher among Asians and American Indians than among Hispanics
Gender-Ensure that technology is taught in a manner that encourages and engages all students, be supportive especially towards women who want to pursue technology.
Social-Economic-Offer additional assistance to those students that are not as familiar with technology and the use of the Internet
Race-Allow additional time for students to utilize computers at school and incorporate technology into assignments.

Resource Equity-Many students only access the Internet at school, depending on the area, almost all student might only have internet at school.

13. Legal Issues Issues: What Can Teacher’s Do?
Copyright-“the legal right of authors to prohibit others from copying their work”
Fair Use-A “doctrine in copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights-holder. It provides for the legal incorporation of copyrighted material into another work under limited conditions”
Copyright-Educate students on giving proper credit to the author/owner when using information prepared by them and also how to paraphrase
Fair Use-Educate students on the importance of giving credit for the materials used and how to correctly cite the source
