1 Theme Analysis: Societal Control
WHAT IS IT? Social control…refers to the many ways in which our behavior, thoughts, and appearance are regulated by the norms, rules, laws, and social structures of society. Social control is a necessary component of social order, for society could not exist without it. This will point out the author’s ideas on society and provides an opportunity for you to agree or disagree with him. It also helps you evaluate how things are progressing on the island. CHAPTER 4
