Prediabetes: A Growing Threat, Let’s Tackle it Together.

3 Pre-Diabetes and Obesity
Over weight/Obesity are risk factors for developing T2D. Obesity related conditions Heart disease, T2D, and some Cancers. Diabetes Prevention Programs effective Intervention can cut the risk of T2D by 58% Decreasing weight and sedentary lifestyles(Associated with Obesity and T2D)

4 Pre-Diabetes CDC- Approx. 84 million adults have pre-diabetes. (1 in 3) 90% do not know they have pre-diabetes Definition- condition in which the blood glucose level is elevated ( ) but not high enough to be diagnosed with T2D. (CDC)

Weight/BMI Healthy Diet with Portion Control Physical Activity Stress Tobacco Use Alcohol Use Quality of Sleep Manage Related Conditions (HTN, Cardiovascular Disease)

7 Health Equity and Disparities
No cost to participants- Program offered free through grants Soon will be getting reimbursed through Medicare DPP coaches travel out into the community for screenings DPP programs offered at various locations through out the community
