* seriously injured in road traffic in the EU in 2014 *MAIS3+ estimates by the European Commission The Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) is a globally accepted trauma classification of injuries, which ranges from 1 (minor injuries) to 6 (non-treatable injuries) and is used by medical professionals to describe the severity of injury for each of the nine regions of the body (Head, Face, Neck, Thorax, Abdomen, Spine, Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, External and other). As one person can have more than one injury, the Maximum Abbreviated Injury Score (MAIS) is the maximum AIS of all injury diagnoses for a person.

11 Multiple partners involved since 2009

12 Drivers at Risk Drivers and riders of vehicles used for a range of purposes Many people work on, or near the road, for example maintenance workers, refuse collectors, postal workers, vehicle breakdown employees, the police. Who are we talking about? On the roads...for work and to/from work (e.g. company cars, vans, pickups, large goods vehicles, buses, taxis, minicabs, emergency vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles). Private cars used for work

13 Road Safety at work in the EU
It is estimated that 40% of all road crashes involve people ‘on duty’ and people driving to work or returning from work. (ORSA) It is estimated that in Europe six out of ten work accidents resulting in death are road crashes, including both crashes while driving for work and commuting crashes. (Eurogip)

14 High burden for society human lives economic loss
40% of fatalities at work High burden for society in terms of human lives and economic loss

15 235 million Kit Kats NESTLE Case study
Nestlé operates upwards of 30,000 vehicles around the globe. The company calculated that in 2004, in Europe alone, it needed to sell 235 million Kit Kats to generate the revenue to finance its motor fleet collision risks. A range of initiatives have since been facilitated, initially through ‘early adopting’ businesses and now expanding globally.  235 million Kit Kats
