Family Life Cycle Foldable
Follow the PowerPoint to create your own foldable about the family life cycle. You will need: 1 sheet of copy paper, 1 pair of scissors, the document “What if the Family Life Cycle” (on website) and colored pencils

Envelope Fold Fold a sheet of paper into a taco forming a triangle. Cut off the leftover piece. 2. Open the folded taco and refold it the opposite way forming another taco and an X-fold pattern. 3. Open the taco fold and fold the corners toward the center point of the X forming a small square. 4. Trace this square onto another sheet of paper. Cut and glue it to the inside of the envelope. Pictures can be placed under or on top of the tabs.

Let’s Begin On the back of the folded side write the title: “Family Life Cycle” and below the title your name “By: …” Describe the family life cycle and the importance of knowing this cycle. You do not need to provide details of the stages at this point. On the folded side label the flaps with the main life cycle stages: Coupling, Parenting, Launching, and Empty Nest. Draw arrows to show the progression.

Let’s Begin (con.) Under each flap define the stage. What happens in this stage? What are some challenges and accomplishments of this stage? During your folding you created 4 boxes under the flaps. Label each square with the one of the four cycle stages. Keep the labels for the stages close to the definition for the stage. Draw a picture that represents each stage. Color the pictures.
