The period between the moment when a king died and a new king officially came to the throne on his first New Year's day was known as his accession year. The Coming of Messiah How long time was Jesus in ministry before He died? Luke 13:32-33 “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split. Matthew 27:50-51 Jesus' sacrifice through His death was predicted. The Sanctuary service pointed on Him, who is our only hope.

The end of the 70 weeks How can Jesus confirm a covenant in one week, if he died in the middle of the week? “These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 10:5-6 “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:14-15

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29 Romans 2:29

The end of the 70 weeks What was the result of the rejection of the Jews? Jerusalem was destroyed as prophesied. Could it have been avoided? Matt 24:15-16 “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. Luke 21:20-21
18
Just like God called the Jews to repent, He calls us to repentance, and to share the good news of Christ.
19
Summary 1. As a result of Daniel's study of Jeremiah, Daniel prayed for a new covenant experience. 2. In His mercy, God gave 490 years to Israel so they could clean up their mess. This time period was cut off the 2300 year prophecy, started in 457 b.c., and ended in 34 a.d. when Stephen was stoned. 3. Israel rejected Christ, and was no longer God's People. Jesus died, rose to heaven, sent the Holy Spirit to His true followers who now took the message to the Gentiles.
