Joseph McCarthy-made a speech declaring State Department filled with Communists Sparked fear and uproar Realities of accusations How did McCarthy make his speech to demonstrate his point? Look at the quote. How was McCarthy persuasive in his accusations? How did this number change over time? Based on both this topic as well as 7a Notes and the primary source activity, why would Americans listen so intently to Sen. McCarthy?
