Week of October 1st- 5th
Reading & Language Arts
We are starting Journey Lesson 3. We will read My Librarian Is a Camel. The skills associated with this lesson are cause & effect and visualizing. We will have a comprehension quiz on Wednesday, October 3rd. The test for this test will be Tuesday October 9th.
Spelling/Grammar – We will be focusing on words with short i and long i. The quiz for this will be this Thursday, October 4th.
Grammar- We are focusing on using quotations. The quiz will be Thursday, October 4th.
Writing – We will be wrapping up our first writing piece – a narrative piece. We will start focusing on using dialogue in writing.
Reminders
-This week is the week of Respect. We will be doing activities throughout the week that focus on respect.
*Spirit Days:
Monday – wear green/yellow/Spirit wear
Wednesday – Wear pajamas
Friday – Sports Jersey/shirt
*Students have off Monday, 10/8
Math
-We are continuing Chapter 2. Chapter 2 focuses on multiplying by 1-digit numbers. The mid-chapter checkpoint is Wednesday October 3rd. The test will be Tuesday, October 16th.
-We will be practicing the 5x tables. Our quiz for these math facts will be Friday, October 5th.
Science/Social Studies
We are continuing Unit 1 in Science. This unit focuses on weathering, erosion, deposition and fossils.
