1 Deposition of Sediments Notes
Aim: What happens after the sediments have been eroded?

2 I. Deposition When an agent of erosion drops off the sediments that it is carrying It may also be referred to as Sedimentation The agents of erosion are also the agents of deposition, such as gravity, water, ice and wind. Most deposition takes place in the water When streams and rivers empty into an ocean the sediments will get dropped off.

3 II. Rate of Deposition It depends on the size, shape, and density of the particles being eroded. A. Particle Size- the largest particles will always settle first B. Particle Shape- the roundest particles will settle first, the flattest will settle last C. Particle Density- the densest particles will always settle first

4 Desposition & Erosion III.Summary
The particles that will always be deposited first will be the largest, roundest, and densest ones!!! Desposition & Erosion
