1 Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 BELLRINGER: Download "i-nigma" to your phone, or any QR reader.

2 "Talk and Turn" - After the video discuss the differences between balanced and unbalanced forces.

3 Each person will be assigned a number.
"Jigsaw Puzzle" Each person will be assigned a number. Grouping according to your number you will use the information from the QR code to solve either a lift, thrust, or tension problem. You will then return to your original group to share your information.

4 Groups 1 & 4 - Use Newton 2nd Law to solve for the force of Lift.
"Jigsaw Puzzle" Groups 1 & 4 - Use Newton 2nd Law to solve for the force of Lift. How much force is necessary to HOLD a 100kg mass over your head? How much force is required to accelerate a 22kg mass at 6 m/s/s?

5 Groups 2 & 5 - Use Newtons 2nd Law to solve for the force of thrust.
"Jigsaw Puzzle" Groups 2 & 5 - Use Newtons 2nd Law to solve for the force of thrust. What is the acceleration of a 100kg rocket if it is launched straight up while generating 2960N of thrust? The same rocket takes off from Mars; what is the acceleration?

6 What is the acceleration of the 20kg block?
"Jigsaw Puzzle" Groups 3 & 6 - Use Newtons 2nd Law to solve for the force of tension. What is the acceleration of the 20kg block? What is the mass of the hanging block is the acceleration of both blocks is 4.9 m/s/s?
