Unit 14 Vocabulary Concede – acknowledge defeat.
Literate – able to read and write. Intimidation – the act of scaring a weaker person to make them do something. Subsequent – following in time or order. Iniquity – an unjust act.

Persevere – be persistent, refuse to stop. Concession – the act of yielding. Judiciously – in a judicious manner. Benevolence – disposition to do good. Asinine – devoid of intelligence.

Analogous – similar or equivalent in some respects. Inconspicuous – not prominent or readily noticeable. Provocation – unfriendly behavior that causes anger or resentment. Accost – approach and speak to someone aggressively or insistently. Wary – openly distrustful and unwilling to confide.

Beckon – summon with a wave, nod, or some other gesture. Oblivious – lacking conscious awareness of. Disgruntled – in a state of sulky dissatisfaction. Skittish – unpredictably excitable. Caress – touch or stroke lightly in a loving or endearing manner.
