symbols With your partner, illustrate a symbol from The Great Gatsby Keep track of your symbol as we read the novel. After we finish, illustrate your symbol symbolically or literally. You must: Include the symbol and its meaning Include 3-5 quotations about the symbol Use color Fill up a whole sheet of 8 ½” by 11” paper (NOT lined paper) Put some effort into this! Daisy has a “low, thrilling voice. It was the kind of voice that the ear follows up and down, as if each speech is an arrangement of notes that will never be played again” (9). “A whispered ‘Listen’” (9). Nick states that Daisy’s voice belongs to someone who lives "high in a white palace, the king's daughter, the golden girl” (120). “There was an excitement in her voice that men who had cared for her found difficult to forget” (9).
