8 Spring Break 2019 with ahc+hospitality
AHC+Hospitality is providing hospitality management students an opportunity to increase their portfolio and network with AHC Leadership, while also diving into an extremely critical component of hotel operations-Housekeeping.  Their goal is to shed light on how absolutely rewarding a role in Housekeeping actually is, how invaluable it is to the success of a hotel/restaurant/facility and a perspective on all the facets this department actually possesses. What the Spring Break Week Entails (March 3-10, 2019):  Hosting students at all three of AHC properties (Courtyard Downtown, JW, Amway) the entire week to live and breathe each of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.  Students will learn all the various Housekeeping roles and what each role does on a daily basis while actually performing on-the-job tasks for a “day in a life”.  Students will be able to learn and understand the difference between a select service, luxury and convention hotel Housekeeping operation Students will be tasked to complete a project and present it during Friday’s closing session Experience Grand Rapids will host the students for Grand Rapids CTA (Certified Tourism Ambassador) training Each student will enjoy an “Experience Stay” the week in which they will stay at our properties to gain a “guests perspective” of Housekeeping.  We in turn are asking that they inspect and “shop” our properties as a “secret shopper” of sorts. Upon completion, each student will receive an AHC Housekeeping 101 Externship certification that they can add to their portfolio as well If interested, please your resume and cover letter to Brian DeMeester, Executive Housekeeper – Amway Grand Plaza, at by Friday, January 18, 2019.
