Electromagnetic energy is the energy that is released into space; it travels in waves.
The electromagnetic spectrum is the range of all possible waves of energy
Visible light is only one small portion of the spectrum
Insects, like bees, see shorter wavelengths than humans

As you are listening, what are some forms of electromagnet energy you have heard of before?
What everyday objects do you now know use electromagnetic energy?

3. Try it!
Look at the sensor on the front of the remote at your station. Press a button on the remote and describe what you see.
Now open the webcam feature on your laptop. Aim the sensor at the camera and press a button now. Now what do you see.
Now as a table describe how this experiment showed that remote controls use a type electromagnetic energy other than visible light.
