The mean standard deviation of the mean peak height of the samples pipetted by the robot (A, mean SD: 59.7) was lower than the one of the hand-pipetted samples (B, mean SD: 100.7).

Influence of different PCR product volumes (1, 1.2 or 1.4μl) on the mean sample peak height (A) and mean size standard peak height (B). The volume of PCR product does not influence the mean sample peak height (A). 1μl of PCR product pipetted by the robot produces a similar mean size standard peak height as 1.2μl PCR product pipetted by hand pipettes (B).
