Principles of manufacturing Bridges By Solomon Guyton 6th period

Beam bridge A simple bridge with supports stabling it to the ground. These bridges would usually be used for carrying cargo or transports across a gap of some sort.

Arch bridge A bridge that has curved abutments on each side. This bridge takes weight by transferring it to the trust on the abutments on either side. These bridges are for covering mass amount of water or just a pond.

Suspension bridge Is a bridge that has cables that connect top one side to the other stabling the supports it comes in contact with. The energy of the weight on it pushing down causes it to stable its self. These bridges are mostly used for covering a large amount of land.

Cable stayed bridge Has one our more supports that doesn’t stable the supports but stables the bridge itself. These are usually made to be able to hold up more than one bridge.

Cantilever bridge A bridge that only has one support. It has only one small little bridge in the middle it sometimes has small foot bridges connected to it. It has a high multipurpose usage.
