At the start of each section you will find a shortened version of the areas in the Standard for Full Registration (SFR). Please refer to the full version for more detail. Once the Key Strengths and Areas for Development section has been completed you will be asked to confirm that the entries are accurate at the same time as you are asked to confirm the recommendation that the Supporter/Mentor has made.

12 Headteacher – Recommendation Process
Once the profile is fully completed the Supporter will make a proposed recommendation which you should either accept or reject by clicking on the link “View Outstanding Profile Recommendations” At the same time you will be asked to accept the Key Strengths and Areas for Development section.

13 Headteacher Recommendation
The recommendations available on an Interim Profile are: Satisfactory Cause for Concern Health and/or Competence Unsatisfactory

14 Headteacher Recommendation
The recommendations available on a Final Profile are: Full Registration Extension Health and/or Competence Cancellation

15 Headteacher – Recommendation Process
If you reject the initial recommendation you should discuss this further with the Supporter until agreement on the recommendation can be made. The Supporter should then submit the agreed recommendation again. When you accept the recommendation an is sent to the Probationer to advise them of the recommendation and the profile is then available for the Local Authority Probation Manager to check prior to submission to the GTCS.

16 Headteacher Change a Profile Type
If a Probationer has had a Satisfactory recommendation at Christmas but subsequently their performance begins to fall during the spring term to the point where it is deemed necessary to note at Easter that progress is unsatisfactory or cause for concern on either competence or health grounds, you are able to change the final profile to an Interim 2 Profile.

17 Headteacher Change a Profile Type
Changing the type of profile does not affect any of the content within the profile currently being worked on; it only changes the classification of profile and the options for the recommendations that can be made so that at Easter it will be the same options as at Christmas instead of the options on a Final profile.

18 Headteacher Change a Profile Type
From the main menu click on the bottom option “Change Profile Type (Final 1 to Interim 2)” Then click on the “Change to Interim 2” link next to the chosen Probationer You will be asked to confirm that you want to make this change. Click on Yes and the change will be implemented.
