1 Bilateral & Multilateral Share of U. S
Bilateral & Multilateral Share of U.S. Global Health Funding, FY 2008 – FY 2019 Request $9.4 $10.3 $10.0 $10.1 $9.8 $10.5 $11.3 $10.6 $10.6 $10.8 $8.3 NOTES: Represents total known funding (base and supplemental) provided through the State Department, USAID, CDC, NIH, and DoD. FY13 includes the effects of sequestration. FY18 is based on funding provided in the “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018” (P.L ) and is a preliminary estimate. Some FY18 global health funding provided through Economic Support Fund (ESF) and Development Assistance (DA) accounts is not yet known; for comparison purposes, FY18 ESF and DA amounts are estimated using prior year levels. Multilateral funding includes the Global Fund, GAVI, IAVI, UNAIDS, UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, PAHO, Commodity Fund, Global TB Drug Facility, and Microbicides. FY18 global health funding provided to IAVI and the Commodity Fund is not yet known and estimated using prior year levels. Several international organizations (including UNICEF, UNAIDS, microbicides research, IAVI, and others) that have historically received specified funding amounts in the budget are not allocated any funding in the FY 2019 Request. While it is possible that the Administration could provide funding to these organizations, such funding would have to be taken from either bilateral programs or other accounts.
