5 ‘Wastebasket of the Sea’
Tiger sharks are carnivorous. When scientists examined the stomach contents of these sharks they found stingrays, sea snakes, seals, birds, squids, and even license plates and old tires. Nickname: ‘Wastebasket of the Sea’ Diet

6 Facts Tiger sharks are names for their stripes which are found on the ‘juvenile’ but fade to almost nothing as they mature. Tiger sharks have been known to live up to 50 years. Tiger sharks are second in line for most attacks on humans, behind great whites. But unlike the great white shark which will usualy swim away after biting a human, the tiger shark will continue to attack because they have a “near completely undiscerning palate ”

7 Human Impact They are heavily harvested for their fins, skin, flesh and livers. Their livers contain high levels of vitamin A, which is processed into vitamin oil. They have extremely low repopulation rates and are listed as near threatened throughout their range.
