2. Information about Victoria.
Victoria, also known as Rabat or by its title Città Victoria, is the capital city of Gozo, the second largest island in Malta.
The city has a total population of 6,901 ,and that makes it the most poplated locality in Gozo.

3. More Information.
Victoria is the name given 10 June 1887 by the British government on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, at the request of the Bishop of Malta, Mons. Sir Pietro Pace.

5. History of the basilica
A Christian community at the heart of Rabat, where today stands St George’s Parish Church, already existed at least five hundred years after Christ. For many years, the church of San Ġorġ, was the only parish serving the island of Gozo. It was also from olden times respected at the island’s Patron Saint. The feast is on the 23rd of April but is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of July.

6. About St George
Along with the church there is a small museum il-Ħaġar.
In this museum you’ll find a lot of artefacts from decades ago that have to do with the Gozo.

8. Saint Mary’s Cathedral
Another one of Gozo’s main parishes Saint Mary’s Cathedral stand on the highest point of Victoria. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of our Lady. Apart from the church there are plenty of museums in the area
