2 A little info about me… 2nd year teaching at Heath
Graduated from Abilene Christian University Before becoming a teacher, I worked in the corporate world as a Human Resources Manager for 10 years.

3 I am married to my college sweetheart, Marshall.
We have three kids; Elise (10), Handley (6), Eva Kate (2). Our dog, Duke, also thinks he’s one of the kids!

4 Student Behaviors Be prompt Be prepared
Be ready to learn when class begins. Be prepared Have materials with you and know due dates. Be a polite and positive participant Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. Be productive Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be a problem solver Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

5 Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor the ideas and opinions of others. Offer to help. Be responsible with property and belongings.

6 Responsibility for Coursework
Bring notebook paper / Cornell paper, agenda, and appropriate writing tools to class. Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time. All assignments are posted on white board, Google classroom and on my website. Spiral Notebook for notes

7 Policies Food and beverages are NOT allowed in the classroom.
Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as class begins at that time. Late assignments 1 day – 80%, 2 days – 70%, 3 days – 50% Absences Go to Mr. Ledbetter’s website OR Google Classroom for assignments. Each absence has a one-day grace period.

8 Policies Gum – I don’t see it or hear it
Class demised by teacher not bell Classroom remains clean. DO NOT get up and walk around while teacher is teaching.

9 Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points.
Points are based on: Class participation (effort) Completion of assignments (daily work) Major projects, exams, and self-reflection Grades are posted online (Skyward) and updated every Monday. Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C Below 69% = F Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.

10 Grading Test and Projects count for 60% of grade
Max of 70% on retakes Classwork / homework count for 40% of grade Zero for missing assignment Students must show all work to receive credit. “ I grade work not answers”
