Background Vocabulary
unwritten Constitution: traditions not written in the Constitution but generally accepted as part of the political system (parties, two term limit, cabinet) Cabinet: advisors to the president political ideology: set of opinions or beliefs an individual or a group has on politics political party: organized group of citizens seeking to win office and implement policy loose interpretation: a broad reading the Constitution that believes the government can do anything that is not strictly prohibited (Elastic Clause) strict interpretation: a narrow reading of the Constitution that believes the government can only do exactly what is written in the document (10th Amendment)
