2 Journey into a Cell

3 Reminders *Test and Quiz make ups, tutoring during PLC on TUES and THURS *Next Science Fair due date and will be the final draft of your background research report. You will post it to turnitin.com. Make sure you select the right class and title -Eaves Final Research Report or Cone Final Research Report. Everyone must submit a final draft *Cell Root Word Quiz is on Wednesday, **Both Study Guides go in your journals for journal check on Tuesday, Read Chapter 7 for this exam, this material will be tested as part of the nine weeks exam on AND we may test over it the week of the 19th!

Keeping the egg in the cup.. and drying the cup as much as possible…determine the mass of your egg in grams. Record in your science journal. BE CAREFUL WITH THE EGG 3. Predict what will happen to your egg when covered in water from the sink. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR EGG! Write your prediction in the form of a hypothesis (if then) in your journal 4. Use just enough SINK WATER to cover the egg. 5. Make detailed qualitative observations in your journal. 6. Place the egg back on the side counter, safely out of the way

6 “Eggsperiment” and Cell Membrane (and transport) Notes
Fill in the blanks for the power point

7 EcoRegion Project Presentations Ms. Eaves’ Classes
Part of your grade will be based on your presentation and your attention during your classmates’ presentations. Hand me your rubric when you come up to present.

8 Ecology Peer Evaluations- Eaves’ Classes
On the top left of your paper please PRINT all group members names (first & last) On the top right of your paper please PRINT your name Divide your paper into three sections (one section for each of your partners and one section for your self evaluation). Write your partner's names above one of the sections and your name above the last section) Answer these questions using COMPLETE SENTENCES about each partner in their section of your paper and about yourself in your section. 1. Did your partner complete their assigned section of your presentation? 2. Did your partner complete their assigned section on time? 3. Did your partner use their class time wisely? 4. Do you think your partner adequately explained their section? Why or why not? 5. Did your partner include video clips and diagrams or any additional material for their section? 6. What grade do you think your partner deserves AND WHY? **DO NOT let anyone see your evaluation. Bring your paper to me.

on variation within a population. Explain how to calculate total magnification in microscopy.

14 Oral Conclusion Please give an example of a limiting factor
Describe one way humans are impacting the nitrogen cycle Describe one way humans are impacting the carbon cycle How are microorganisms such as bacteria beneficial to an ecosystem? Organism? Give an example of a producer. A consumer> Describe biological magnification. Give an example of an abiotic factor. A biotic factor. Describe an invasive species and give an example. Why does only 10% of the energy move from trophic level to trophic level? How is primary succession different from secondary succession?
