3 1. Judicial review is the power of the Supreme Court to determine the Constitutionality- whether or not something agrees or disagrees with what’s in the Constitution- of laws and executive acts 2. The case Marbury v. Madison established the principle of judicial review for the supreme court. John Marshall was the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court during this time.

5 1. The Constitution is the supreme law of
the land. 2. If there is a conflict between the Constitution and any other law, the Constitution rules. 3. The judicial branch may declare any law or presidential action as unconstitutional, if it conflicts with the Constitution.

Congress may write a new law Congress may amend the Constitution

7 The judicial branch may declare a presidential action as unconstitutional.
The president appoints federal judges with Senate approval. Congress may impeach a federal judge
