He is a part-time research assistent to Professor Blackadder, who had been editing Ash’s Complete Works since This is the reason why the writer shows as Roland, while he researchs a piace of information about Ash, in the London Library.

8. Randolph Henry Ash
The subject of Roland’s research is Ash, who is an important writer and poet during the Victorian Age. He is known as a man whose life seemed to be all in his mind, who lived a quiete and exemplary married life four fourty years… but… through Roland’s investigation we can know another reality about him.
