Different types of light.
Light moves through space a bit like crests and the distance between one crest and the other is called a wavelength.
Light is organized in packets of energy called photons and that the amount of energy that they can have is inversely proportional to the size of its wavelength which is measured in nanometers.

3. The one useful for photosynthesis is visible light, between 380 – 750nm.
Photosynthesis uses organic molecules called pigments to capture light (chlorophyll a and b, carotene, anthocyanin). Each pigment captures light at specific wavelength intervals.
