2. This magnificent and private Renaissance-style chateau built between 1830 and 1840, was superbly restored in 2005 to create a luxury hotel and gastronomic restaurant. The château has a magnificent entrance hall with reception desk, two large dining rooms, two reception rooms, a bar and ten en-suite double bedrooms. In the basement there are laundry facilities, an office and also the kitchen.

6. The choice of furniture and decoration have created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The result being a peaceful and sumptuous place to relax and enjoy all that the region has to offer. South-facing, all the rooms are superbly situated with a view of the grounds, the woodlands and the distant hills. All bedrooms can be accessed directly by lift.

10. Grounds
Set in a 16 hectare park secure and gated and there is security guard accommodation at the entrance to the grounds. The property also has a kitchen garden on a separate plot of land to keep the hotel in fresh veg for the restaurant. Outbuildings include the stables, the hayloft and the servants' quarters. There is a mini fort dating from the Middle ages, with drawbridge and arrow slits. Partially in ruin, surviving in the woods near the entrance of the grounds but hidden from view.

Situated 25km from the TGV station at Châtellerault, and only 35km from Poitiers airport as well as under 4hrs drive from 3 different Channel ferry ports. It is also close to all of the spectacular Loire Valley Chateaux and you can be in Paris in under 1 1/2hrs or on the coast at La Rochelle. There is a lake and beach at St Cyr which is only about 25km away, Futuroscope is less than 30km.
