5 Day 1: Melbourne – Osaka Assemble at Melbourne International Airport for your Cathay Pacific flight to Osaka. Meet & Osaka Airport Coach transfer to accommodation Stay overnight in Osaka (late arrival into Osaka approx. 9:30pm) Accommodation : Shin Osaka Youth Hostel

6 Day 2 (B): Osaka - Hiroshima
This morning after breakfast using your JL pass take the train from Osaka station to Universal Studios. Spend the day visiting Hogsmede & seeing Harry Potter World coming to life. This afternoon take the train onto Hiroshima, where you spend the next 2 nights.

7 Hiroshima - Miyajima Island - Hiroshima
Day 3 (B): Hiroshima - Miyajima Island - Hiroshima After breakfast take a 10minute ferry ride over to Miyajima Island, where you will spend the day surrounded by the local deer community. You might like to visit Itsukushima Shrine & the oldest Tori gate (above) This afternoon return to Hiroshima to visit Hiroshima’s Peace Park. The Atom Bomb Museum tells the story of the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 during World War II and the devastating after effects, whilst the Peace Park is a memorial park dedicated to the memories of the bombs direct and indirect victims. Return to accommodation.

8 Hiroshima- Kyoto (Ayabe Homestay)
Day 4 – 5 (BLD): Hiroshima- Kyoto (Ayabe Homestay) This morning after breakfast use your Japan Rail Pass and travel by train to Ayabe Station. On arrival participate in your cultural exchange program for the next 3 days. Program includes: Transfer from/to Ayabe station 2 nights stay in Ayabe (teachers) 2 nights homestay (students) Breakfast daily 2 x lunch & 2 dinner (students) Club activities at local school 2 x cultural activities (Choose from : Kimono dressing, Tea ceremony & Japanese Washi paper making)

9 Day 6 (B): Ayabe - Kyoto After breakfast, it’s time to say Sayonara to your new Ayabe friends. You will be transferred to Aybae station where you will take the train to Kyoto. On arrival walk to accommodation (approx mins), check in & drop off bags. The remainder of the day is under direction of teachers. You may like to visit : Golden Pavilion, a wooden temple covered in thin layers of gold which is one of the most popular attractions in all of Japan. Kyoto Imperial Palace, the former residence of the Emperor of Japan Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Fushimi Inari (above)– to see hundreds of red tori gates.

10 Day 7 (B): Kyoto - Tokyo This morning after breakfast take the train to Tokyo. Drop off luggage the reminder of the day is free for teacher guided sightseeing. This evening visit the infamous Shibuya Crossing, the busiest intersection in the world and continue onto the crazy teen fashion district, Harajuku. There is free time to explore the wonderful and wacky stores selling cosplay outfits, everything Hello Kitty and so much more! Accommodation : Tokyo Central Youth Hostel

11 Day 8 (B): Tokyo This morning after breakfast the day is free for teacher guided sightseeing.

12 Arrive in Melbourne the next day . (Day 10)
Day 9 & 10 (B) Tokyo- Melbourne This morning after breakfast you will have free time prior to private transfer to Tokyo airport where you will catch your return flight to Melbourne. Arrive in Melbourne the next day . (Day 10)

15 Cost of tour & what can affect the cost of the tour?
Estimated Tour Cost: Based on 10 students and 2 teachers $3, per student Should the number of participants change from the above a re-cost will be necessary Prices are subject to currency fluctuation, airfare increases, and seasonality changes for 2019. The quote is based 2 teachers in single rooms & multi-share rooms for 10 students. Should the number or mix of males/females require a different rooming configuration, please note that a re-cost will be necessary. Below are some factors that can affect the quoted price of the tour: Prepaid airline and airport taxes, levies and surcharges are frequently changing. This component is not fixed until the entire airline and tax amount is paid and the group is ticketed by the airline Exchange rates- all land costs are calculated in local currency. The exchange rate used in the quote is 1AUD= 81 Yen Tour Numbers Itinerary changes

16 Passport Information Each passenger must have a valid passport
Your passport must not expire within 6 months of the date of return A photocopy of the details page of each passenger’s passport is required If you are travelling on anything other than an Australian passport, advise the school immediately

18 Spending Money Students will need to take enough spending money to cover meals and snacks not covered in the itinerary, along with and personal expenses and souvenirs It is best to take money in a couple of different forms- some local currency in cash, some on a debit card or travel money card, such as the Travelex Cash Passport Currency is the Japanese Yen

19 What’s next? Decide if this is for you 
Pay the deposit payment of $300 to school by due date: 20th September 2018 Make sure you have your passport ready & investigate if a visa is required. All cheques and correspondence must be made directly to the school Payment schedule as outlined by the school

Documentation and Payments 20th Sept 2018 Deposit Payment Due. 12th April 2019 Final date Tour Itinerary and Tour Inclusions need to be finalised by. No deviation requests will be accepted after this date. 03rd May 2019 Airfare payment Copies of teachers, students and other participants passports. Failure to provide passport copies by this date may result in ticket reissue fees should there be a discrepancy between passport name and the name appearing on the ticket. Final and completed names list (including after-hours numbers for teachers and students) & dietary requirements. Mid May 2019 The exchange rate for your tour will be locked in by pre-purchasing the required YEN amount. 21st June 2019 Final Payment Due.
