5. Challenges of Field Placements
Just considering secondary placements (CI, PBI and AT)

Candidates are not reimbursed for travel by UCA
Matching candidates’ schedules to teacher schedules
Competition for classroom teachers with other Central Arkansas universities and other UCA programs (middle-level and MAT)
Over the road costs:
time: 0.5 to 1.5 hours of driving for each trip to field;
Cost of travel (not to mention need for a car in the first 0.41/mile (state rate): $4-$22
lost wages to student for each trip: $4-$11
