1971-Canada adopted an official policy of cultural pluralism.
What are the pros and cons in a society of having an official Multiculturalism Policy?

3. STEREOTYPE
A simplified belief based on judging all members of a group by the behaviours of a few.
A stereotype ignores individual differences and rejects the concept of judging every person for themselves

4. PREJUDICE
An unfavourable belief or judgment about members of a group, without the knowledge or experience needed to make such a judgment.
May lead to discriminatory action

5. DISCRIMINATION
A set of actions that societies or individuals take against particular people or groups of people because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc…

6. TYPES OF DISCRIMINATION
SYSTEMIC DISCRIMINATION-Discrimination supported by laws. Discrimination that exists embedded in the practices and rules of institutions.
HARRASSMENT-Discrimination in the form of verbal or physical attacks.
GENOCIDE-Widespread killing of members of a particular group.
