9. TDSB ICT Standards
The TDSB ICT Standards are a guideline to assist teachers, students, and administrators with the integration of technology into the curriculum.  They were delivered to the system in the Fall of 2010 and each school received two copies of the standards - one for administration and one for staff that is located in the Professional Learning section of your school library.  A pdf copy can be download from the site link given. 
The ICT Standards are divided by six strands.  The strands remain the same from grade to grade; however, the elements and experiences gradually increase in skill level from grades K to 12.

D2L is a Learning Management System (LMS) that is provided by eLearning Ontario and TDSB eLearning program.  eLearning Ontario is a Ministry department that provides students the opportunity to earn credits online.  In TDSB, students have the option to register for one online course per semester as well as summer school online credits.  This is beneficial to many who have timetable conflicts, a course is not offered at their home school, or a course at their home school is full.  The D2L learning environment is quite robust with many features for teaching and learning:  announcements, calendar, internal , page, chat, discussion forums, file storage, portfolio, survey, quiz, assignment submission, text and audio feedback, text, audio, and video instruction, etc.  Presently, this tool is only available to secondary teachers teaching online credits or credit recovery teachers in a face-to-face (f2f) environment.
