After caring for the injured, CFD looked around the space and determined there were unsafe conditions and ordered the lab to cease all research activities until remedied.

3. The Injury Burn to wrist from drop of bromine Findings
Researcher working in a fume hood 
A splatter occurred after the bromine was poured into a container and a stirring mechanism was turned on, spinning too quickly.
Injury occurred between gloved hand and lab coat
Rinsed and went to hospital
Findings
PPE on, but was not sufficient to cover all exposed areas
No SOP or written instructions to consider stirring speed or PPE selection

4. The Lab Space Multiple unsecured compressed gas cylinders
Unsecure lecture bottles: hydrogen chloride & sulfur dioxide
Chemical containers stacked on other chemical containers in the storage cabinet.
Multiple trash and sharps containers completely full
Cardboard boxes on pipes above electric lighting
Electrical wiring / power strips on floor
In need of laboratory housekeeping
