John 8, Jesus and the Jews Introduction:
There are different ways to gain insight into the person, thinking, and conduct of the Son of God. One way is to consider Jesus in dialogue with the enemies of truth. Indeed, Jesus addressed not only the circumstance, but also the involved players (John 8: 1-11). John 8: contains some pointed statements made by Jesus to the Jews.

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “14: Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. 15: Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.” (See vs ) Comments: We shall notice Jesus’ statement and the resultant dialogue. Place emphasis on Jesus’ words, their nature, logic, and applicability.

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “21: Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.” (See vs )

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “31: Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free….” (See vs )

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “38: I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.” (See vs )

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “45: And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46: Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?” (See vs )

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “51: Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.” (See vs )

John 8, Jesus and the Jews “58: Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” (See v. 59.)

John 8, Jesus and the Jews Conclusion:
Jesus’ responses were to the point and germane. He only differed on important issues. His thinking and argumentation was factual and sound. Since they could not answer him, they resorted to emotionalism and violence (v. 59).
