There are different ways to gain insight into the person, thinking, and conduct of the Son of God. One way is to consider Jesus in dialogue with the enemies of truth. Indeed, Jesus addressed not only the circumstance, but also the involved players (John 8: 1-11). John 8: contains some pointed statements made by Jesus to the Jews.

Comments: We shall notice Jesus’ statement and the resultant dialogue. Place emphasis on Jesus’ words, their nature, logic, and applicability.

Jesus’ responses were to the point and germane. He only differed on important issues. His thinking and argumentation was factual and sound. Since they could not answer him, they resorted to emotionalism and violence (v. 59).
