The device consists in a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) chamber for collecting the explants to be analyzed; a PVC chamber containing the 0.1% (w/v) dithiothreitol solution for dissolving the polysaccharide matrix of the biofilm and detaching the bacteria; 2 snap-off valves: the red one connecting the 2 chambers and the blue one connecting the chamber containing explants and solution drawing system; and a vacuum solution drawing system to collect fluid.
