We Are Precious In His Sight

So, how does God call it?

Proverbs 24:11-12 (VOICE) 11 Rescue everyone you can of those being taken away and killed, and hold on to those innocent souls staggering toward their own slaughter. 12 If you excuse yourself, saying, “Look, we didn’t know anything about this,” doesn’t God, who knows what you are really thinking, understand your motives? Isn’t your Protector aware of why you aren’t protecting the innocent? Will He not repay you in kind?

Athenagoras (133AD – 190AD) In 150AD he wrote a letter to Emperor Marcus Aurelius ‘… The fetus in the womb is a living being and therefore the object of God’s care.’

“Our faith declares life out of death
“Our faith declares life out of death. Therefore, murder is forbidden once and for all. We may not destroy even the fetus in the womb. To hinder a birth is merely a speedier man killing. Thus it does not matter whether you take away a life that is born, or destroy one that is coming to the birth. In both instances, destruction is murder.” Tertullian (160AD – 220AD)

Basil of Caesarea (330AD – 379AD)

Basil knew God’s Word Psalm 139:13-16 (VOICE) 13 For You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath. 14 I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul. 15 You see all things; nothing about me was hidden from You. As I took shape in secret, carefully crafted in the heart of the earth before I was born from its womb. 16 You see all things; You saw me growing, changing in my mother’s womb; Every detail of my life was already written in Your book; You established the length of my life before I ever tasted the sweetness of it.

What does “Sanctity of Life” mean to you?

“The Sanctity of Life” is the protecting of all human life without compromise or exceptions from its earliest biological beginning to natural death.

God is the creator of life
God is the creator of life. Genesis 1:27 – 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them… Genesis 2:7 2:7 the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

in their personhood. Cannot be like the part of Germany’s church that was called the “Singing Church”. They turned a deaf ear to the cries of the Jews on their way to the death camps, on the trains that went passed Germany’s churches. They simply “Sang Louder”. We need to defend those “unjustly sentenced to death”.

Roe v. Wade Decision . . . the personhood of the preborn child is the single point on which the entire debate turns. “In the Roe v. Wade decision, Justice Harry Blackmun wrote that, ‘(If the) suggestion of personhood [of the preborn] is established, the [abortion rights] case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment.’” 21

At about three weeks after conception the baby’s heartbeat can be detected.  Six weeks after conception the baby has its own lifelong brainwave.   If the absence of a brainwave is considered the sign of death, why then is the presence of this brainwave not accepted as a confirmation of life?  How come if one kills a pregnant woman and her unborn child in the womb dies, it is a crime? And If an abortion doctor were to remove the same child while it is alive in the womb, it is Lawful? Murder is murder, no matter who takes the life.

What does God’s Word say about the preborn?

Exodus 21:22-25 (VOICE) 22 If two men are fighting with each other and happen to hit a pregnant woman during the quarrel causing her to give birth prematurely (but no other harm is done), then the one who hit her must pay whatever fine the judges determine based upon the amount demanded by the woman’s husband. 23 But if any further harm comes, then the standard for the punishment is reciprocal justice: a life for a life, 24 an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot, 25 a burn for a burn, a wound for a wound, a bruise for a bruise.

God values us so highly that even when we sinned against Him, He sacrificed His One and Only Son to redeem us, and pay for us. He paid an infinitely high price for us showing that we are truly valuable.

John 3:16 (VOICE) 16 For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life.

Silence is NOT an option for Christians.

Leviticus 20:1-5 20 The Eternal One spoke to Moses
Leviticus 20: The Eternal One spoke to Moses. Eternal One: 2 Tell the people of Israel that if any of them or any outsiders living among them present their children as human sacrifices to Molech, they will be put to death. The entire community must see to it that he is stoned to death. 3 I will turn against that man and cut him off from his community because he presented one of his children to Molech; he has desecrated My sanctuary and My sacred reputation. 4 If the people in the community fail to handle the situation and do not execute him after he presents his children to Molech, 5 then I will take the matter into My own hands and turn against the man and his family. I will cut him and all those who prostitute themselves with Molech off from their community.

We, too, have false gods, But our false gods just have other names Convenience – it is not convenient to have a baby right now Choice – I decide what happens with my body and anyone attached to my body Personal preference – I want a boy and this one is a girl.
