1 Project Scope / Time / Cost
Cost (Budget) Cost of each Task  Cost of Summary Tasks  Cost of Overall Project Time (Schedule) Task List with Durations & Sequencing Scope Scope Statement  WBS Diagram  Task List & Responsibility Matrix

2 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
The WBS diagram is a hierarchical tree of work items to be accomplished Using the Scope statement, a list of all the activities must be developed Creating a work breakdown structure (WBS) is a better approach for larger, more complex projects Criteria for deciding how much detail or how many levels to put in the WBS: Level at which a single individual or organization can be assigned responsibility and accountability for accomplishing the work package, and Level at which you want to control the budget and monitor and collect cost data during the project.

3 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

4 Task List List all activities / tasks required to complete project
Primary task is lowest level of detail Summary task is the accumulation of all of its primary tasks Create using MS Project (Task Sheet View) Add durations and sequencing for each task to build a schedule

5 Task List

6 Responsibility Matrix
Displays in tabular format the individuals responsible for each task and summary tasks “X” can be used to indicate who is responsible Can indicate primary and secondary responsibility using: “P” indicates who has primary responsibility “S” indicates who has secondary responsibility

7 Responsibility Matrix

8 Cost Table Displays in tabular format the cost of all tasks and summary tasks Cost of summary task = cost of all of its primary tasks Cost are calculated as: total cost = number of units required x cost per unit Examples: 80 hours x $30 per hour = $2,400 total cost 3 servers x $3,500 per server = $10,500 total cost Project Cost should also include contingency/reserve funds
