2. Autism Awareness activity
Annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2nd. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events. At Mattlin Middle School, we held Extended MAP on April 1st and participated in our own Autism Awareness Activity. Every MAP group watched the below video to bring awareness to World Autism Awareness Day Each student received one puzzle piece and on his/her puzzle piece, he/she wrote one special talent that he/she has or something that makes him/her special. Students also had the opportunity to decorate their pieces as well. Students then cut out their puzzle pieces and brought them to Mrs. Luzzi in Guidance. Once all of the puzzle pieces were submitted, Ms. Gulli and Ms. D’Ambrosio worked with our TAG students to display all of the puzzle pieces around our school.
