What is Seafood Excellence Awards?
The Seafood Excellence Awards recognizes New Products that have been introduced to the market within 18 months. Finalists and winners will receive additional press coverage, free publicity and attention from buyers attending the event.
Winners will receive a specialty design award and featured on the Seafood Expo North America website.
Seafood Expo North America New Product Showcase applicants are automatically entered into the competition at no additional charge once signed up for the New Product Showcase.

2. Seafood Excellence Awards con’t.
Products entered, all of which must be edible, will be displayed in a showcase on the show floor.
The advisory committee will screen the applications and top finalists will be notified by mid-February 2017. 
Once you are chosen, we will instruct you where to bring your product. The tasting and judging will be on the show floor on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
Finalists are required to display the product in both raw and prepared states as well as display product packaging.
There will be three major seafood professionals judges who will be judging and tasting.
Awards will be given for the Best Retail Product and Best Foodservice Product.
The awards will be announced at a special Seafood Excellence Awards Ceremony and Reception on Sunday, March 19 at 3:30 pm at the demonstration theater.

3. Seafood Excellence Awards Information
Judging Criteria:
Products will be evaluated on their uniqueness and appropriateness to the market
Taste profile (flavor, texture, aroma, cooked appearance)
Packaging (label information, environmental factors, food safety)
Market potential (potential for commercial success, correct packaging and profile for target market, value, quality/price ratio)
Convenience for end user and consumer
Nutritional value
Originality
