2 white collar crime In the rational view of the firm, the employee’s main moral duty is to work toward the goals of the firm and to avoid any activities, which might harm those goals. To be unethical, basically, is to deviate from these goals in order to serve one’s own interests in ways that, if illegal, are counted as a form of white collar crime.

3 Obligations to the firm
When you accept employment, you generally agree to perform certain tasks in exchange for financial remuneration. Your employment contract determines what you are supposed to accomplish for your employer. Loyalty to the company Conflict of interest

4 Loyalty to the company When you are hired to work for your employer , you have an obligation to act on behalf of your organization, to promote your employer interest. Loyalty is sacrifice without any expectation of rewards. Morality requires neither blind loyalty nor total submission to the organization.

5 Factors affecting loyalty
Pay Information sharing Employee input Fair Workplace policies Working conditions Care/Concern about personal conditions but no discrimination.

6 Conflict of interest Conflict of interest arises when employee at any level have private interest that collides with that of organization. Conflict of interest is a risky situation, employees should promptly remove themselves from such conflicts or avoid them from the start. Conflicts of interest may exist when employees have financial investments in suppliers or distributors with whom their organizations do business.

7 Abuse of Official Position
Using one’s official position for personal gain is likely to violate one’s obligations to the organization. Example: Using corporate funds for private purposes such health club memberships, excessive parties, vacation travel, etc.

10 Abuse of Official Position Harrasment (Irritation/annoyance)
It can include harassment base on any grounds such as race gender religion color ethnic origin language etc. It can possibly occur inside or outside the workplace or of working hours. Both male and female staff can be the victim of harassment.
