2 Purpose Introduction of the piano technique that will be reinforced in EZ Piano Studio Good Posture One finger at a time Playing without looking at your fingers unless you are moving positions "Floating Hands Two notes at a time Playing three notes at a time Knowing the difference between "playing piano gentle" and "banging piano Pushing Techniques:

Good posture: Feet has to be place in order to give solid and balance Back has to be straight Shoulders has to be relax Arm has to be hanging higher Elbow has to be like "chicken-wings Wrist has to be parallel to the hands, wrist cannot shake too much while playing Fingers has to be curve, no flat fingers are allowedOnly the finger tip will be playing piano Go to the Video tab for the detailed tutoring samples

4 2. One finger at a time: When play piano, finger has to be independent from each other, thus, we can only play "one finger at a time The rest of the fingers cannot fly, they must curve but not touching the piano. Go to the Video tab for the detailed tutoring samples

5 3. Playing without looking at your fingers unless you are moving positions Students has to develop the skills that keep their eyes on the music pages but not on the fingers and keyboard. Students has to develop the skills that "feel" the keyboard with their fingers "touch", but now with eyes. However, while moving positions, students will allowed to look at the keyboard to find the new positions.

6 4. "Floating Hands" Imagine that you are playing piano under the water. When you relax, your hands will be float on the water No "sinking hands" while playing piano When you are not playing with the hand, keep it float above the keys, and do not touch the keys. 7 5. Two notes at a time: Playing two notes at a time is more challenging than one note at a time. Playing two notes at a time need only two strong fingers. The rest of the fingers cannot touch the piano keyboard, however, they cannot be "flying" too. The rest of the fingers has to be curve Go to the Video tab for the detailed tutoring samples

8 6. Playing three notes at a time: Playing three notes at a time will need a help of "magic pencil" in the beginning (ask me to show you)

9 7. Knowing the difference between "playing piano gentle" and "banging piano" After knowing the difference, students should only playing piano gentle Try not to "bang the piano Imagine if you are singing (ask me to show you the triangle)

10 8. Pushing Technique Push the keys deeper just like making dough will help you to achieve the loud effect without banging piano. You need to push with your arms, not your fingers. Your arms will have more power compare to your fingers.

11 Conclusions The 8 piano techniques will be reinforced in EZ Piano Studio they are in the sequence of easy to advance. Once the first technique is solid and well developed in student, I will move to the next technique.
