3 Fame facilitator roles
Arrange and plan Community of Practice (CoP) meetings. Plan Handle paperwork to ensure teachers earn 3 MSDE credits. Paperwork Facilitate dialogue that enables teachers to gain a deeper understanding of FAME. Facilitate Coach teachers in the implementation of FAME strategies. Coach Foster reflection, professional growth and learning. Foster Encourage risk taking and learning from mistakes. Encourage Fame facilitator roles

4 FAME participant roles
Complete Complete the five modules independently before the scheduled Community of Practice meeting. Participate Attend and actively participate in all five CoP meetings meetings Reflect Reflect on new learning by completing the Application Activities and submitting them the facilitator before the next CoP meeting. Implement Be willing to take risks and open to implementing FAME strategies in the classroom.

8 Formative assessment is…
Formative assessment is a process used by teachers and students during instruction that provides feedback to adjust ongoing teaching and learning to improve students’ achievement of intended instructional outcomes.

9 Five characteristics of formative assessment
Learning progressions articulate the pathway typical students take travel to meet a learning goal. Learning goals and success criteria are clearly defined and shared with students. Descriptive feedback is linked to intended instructional outcomes and success criteria. Self and peer assessment are sued frequently to encourage students to understand and internalize the criteria. Collaboration in the classroom creates a culture in which students and teachers are partners in learning.

Each person share their big ideas. In the center, write one sentence summarizing the impact of formative assessment on student achievement.
