Using an inverse matrix to solve a linear system of equations:
Step 1: Make a 2 x 2 coefficient matrix (just like in Cramer’s Rule) Step 2: Multiply the coefficient matrix by a 2 x 1 matrix, Step 3: Set this expression equal to the 2 x 1 matrix of constants Step 4: Find the inverse of the coefficient matrix and multiply both sides of the equation by the inverse Step 5: The result should give you = Step 6: Label the answer (x, y)
